We exist to...

Increase our knowledge and love of gardening

Encourage civic beauty and nature appreciation, and

Promote neighborliness and strengthen community ties.

Who We Are

The Chastain Park Garden Club is a small community of neighbors and friends who live in or near the Chastain Park neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. United by a love and appreciation of gardening and our community, we work together to enhance and preserve the character of our neighborhood through education, fellowship, and hands-on involvement.

What We Do

Our club focuses on garden education and programming with a balance of education, hands-on community service, and fellowship. Our meetings are structured to be engaging and productive and are held from October through May.

  • Educational Programming: Meetings generally begin with a focus on learning.

  • Field Trips: This includes engaging educational programs on various gardening topics, or a chance to actively participate in a community project, or an opportunity to explore a new garden or take a field trip to inspire your next growing season.

  • Meetings: Following our educational program, we conduct our club business to plan our next efforts, support local initiatives, and ensure the organization runs smoothly.

Garden Projects at Chastain Park

The club works to improve our community and to restore the natural beauty of Chastain Park through volunteer projects. The club sponsors several areas around the park:

  • The Northwest entrance to Chastain Park

  • The triangular area at corner of Powers Ferry Road and Stella Drive

  • The flower boxes at the weather shelter at the Red parking lot on Powers Ferry Road

  • The grassy area along the PATH sidewalk on Powers Ferry Road

Support of the Conservancy

The Chastain Park Garden Club supports the Chastain Park Conservancy through annual donations, partnerships such as the Chastain Park Home Tour, and sponsorship of other Conservancy events that help maintain and enhance the park for the community.

Member Education

Nurturing the knowledge and love of gardening is at the heart of our purpose. Through workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on experiences, members deepen their understanding of how to grow and care for a wide variety of plants. The club also participates in plant swaps, sharing specimens from members’ own gardens as they continue to expand their knowledge and skills.
